Wilbur's mom also gets first class treatment at her favorite hotel... the Hotel Calzona.
Wilbur's mom says that she dreams of retiring in Needles someday. Wilbur's dad says that he'd much rather shovel snow than bake in the hot desert in his retirement years. (Wilbur's dad is shoveling out a special poops spot for Wilbur and Dolly - isn't he a good dad?)

Here's Wilbur supervising the snow shoveling. Did you notice that Dolly isn't in these pictures? That's because she was inside staying cozy next to the fireplace - she's no dummy!
Wilbur's mom sent my mom this postcard on her last trip out to Needles. Apparently she thought this lovely picture would entice my mom into visiting Needles someday. (Note to Wilbur's mom... "Oh HELL No!")
*In July and August the temperature in Needles often exceeds the temperature of the surface of the sun.

I can't believe it's THAT hot....
I rest my case...
Needles, like Death Valley, is known for extreme heat during the summers. Temperatures in Needles routinely reach 120°F (49 °C) in late July and early August. The Needles weather station is frequently reported by the United State government's National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) as the site of the highest daily temperature recorded in the U.S. during the hot desert summers. Needles occasionally sets national or world daily high temperature records.
