Camera Critters Sunday #8

We went to the Pet Expo in Costa Mesa, CA last April (mainly to look at the dogs) but this bunny caught my eye and I took a picture of it. Can you tell that this little girl adores her bunny?

I also took a picture of this German Shepherd Dog at the Expo. I didn't notice the expression on his face until I uploaded the picture to my computer. You tell me... is he laughing at me or with me?

My Little Buddy...

Do you remember the old Gilligan's Island TV show? Gilligan was the Skipper's "Little Buddy". Well I guess Trooper is my version of Gilligan. He loves to follow me everywhere. I have to admit... after spending my entire lifetime playing second fiddle to Taz, it's kind of nice that the little guy looks up to me! Here's Trooper yipping in my face because I won't share my dog biscuit with him.

I can't get away from him in the backyard either. Apparently he hasn't grasped the concept of "personal space". Sigh...

It's always nice and peaceful when he finally does fall asleep. Doesn't it look like he has a smile on his face? Maybe he's dreaming?

Sssssh! Don't wake him up! DON'T WAKE HIM UP!! Darn it - he woke up! I was hoping to get a longer nap. Trooper says, "I'm awake! Can we go out and play now?"

Sheesh... it's a good thing he's cute. Otherwise I wouldn't put up with him the way I do!

Lakers back in NBA Finals!

Ollie says, "GO LAKERS!"

Wilbur & Trooper Best Buds Forever

My baby brother Trooper went to Wilbur and Dolly's house for a visit last night. I stayed at home and enjoyed the peace and quiet... don't get me wrong... I love Trooper but sometimes he gets a little too rambunctious and I have to bark at him to make him leave me alone. I think Wilbur and Trooper are BFFs (best friends forever) now... here they are acting goofy together...

This is Dolly. Dolly hates it when Wilbur or Trooper try to take her toys. See how she keeps an eye on the two knuckleheads?

Trooper loved giving Wilbur kisses...

Did you know that Trooper was born on Valentine's Day? Maybe that's why he likes to give so many kisses!

Poor Wilbur was pooped out by the end of the night. You couldn't tell by looking at him but Wilbur is actually a speed demon when it comes to running circles around the couch. Poor Trooper couldn't keep up with him! Oh good grief... here's another kissing picture...

Wilbur says "I'm tired! Tell the pipsqueak that it's time for him to go home!"

Dolly says, "Oh for the love of Pete... Will you two pipe down? I'm trying to get my beauty sleep here! Grrrr!"

Camera-Critters Sunday #7

Meet Trooper the newest member of our family. We adopted him less than a week ago from the Rancho Coastal Humane Society in Encinitas, CA. He loves to play with toys, especially his squeaky toys. He's a 3-month old Shepherd/Husky mix and the baby brother to a nearly 15-year-old Golden Retriever mix and a 13-year-old Samoyed mix. He is especially fond of Ollie (the Sammy mix) and sticks to him like glue. Trooper is a love-bug... he loves to cuddle and he gives the best puppy kisses! Here he is playing with a pinecone in the backyard.

Trooper also has humongous eyebrows that are shaped like apostrophes. (Sometimes I think we should have named him Groucho!) And he almost always has one ear sticking up and the other ear flapped down.

Trooper is a wonderful pup and my husband is looking forward to taking him hiking, kayaking and fishing this Summer. Here he is sleeping in his favorite position (flat on his back). Oh, in case you're wondering... yes, he LOVES to have his belly rubbed!

Trooper says, "Thanks for stopping by... I hope everyone is having a nice weekend!"

Evil Cookie Monster

The last time Wilbur's mom came over for a visit she brought me and Taz a big box of doggy cookies! Can you see the cookies inside of the window on the front of the box? They look just like Oreos and they're soooo delicious! Of course now I have to share with my pipsqueak baby brother but that's okay... he's my little buddy and he likes to follow me everywhere.

Wilbur's mom knows how important it is for me to keep my "girlish" figure so she made sure that these cookies are healthy. They contain "all natural" ingredients that are good for us. (Just ignore the habanero hot sauce next to the box - my mom and dad like to eat that stuff... it's too hot for me and Taz!)

In addition to the Lick n' Crunch cookies, Wilbur's mom also brought along this delicious dog biscuit that was dipped in a special chocolate that's safe for dogs to eat. Ooooh... I was drooling just looking at it!

But wait... what's this?! The Evil Prow Prow kitty is eyeballing MY chocolate covered dog biscuit! "Go away Prow Prow! Shoo! Shoo!"

WAAAGH!!! Prow Prow is eating MY biscuit!!!

Luckily my mom noticed what was happening and took the biscuit away from Prow Prow. (But not before she put her stupid cat cooties on it... see how she's trying to lick the chocolate off?!)

Prow Prow says... "Ollie is so gullible, I had no intention of eating his dumb biscuit. I just like to mess with him because he gets so upset if he thinks he's going to miss out on a treat. If you ask me Ollie could afford to skip a few meals... there's a reason my mom and dad joke about putting a WIDE LOAD sign across his backside!"

If looks could kill...

My mom loves to shop for dog and kitty items (toys, furniture, treats) especially if she can rationalize blowing tons of money her carefully thought out purchases by saying that the money goes towards a good cause. The Rancho Coastal Humane Society (where my mom and dad adopted Trooper) has it's own little pet shop where you can buy all sorts of neat stuff. My mom spotted this kitty cube thingy and she thought it would be a purrfect gift for Prow Prow. If you look inside the hole you can see part of Prow Prow's face and one of her paws. She loves sleeping in that silly thing... sometimes she'll take a flying leap into one of the holes and the cube will tumble off the bed with her inside of it.

So what do you think? Is Prow Prow hatin' the paparazzi? Is she plotting to kill my mom in her sleep? My mom loved how the fuzzy blue ball was dangling over Prow Prow's head... Prow Prow was not amused.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow... in May?!

This morning we woke up to SNOW! In MAY! Wow, we thought it would be several months before Trooper got to see his first snowfall but we were wrong. (Those white specks on his fur are snowflakes.)

I feel like it's my duty to keep an eye on the little pipsqueak while he's playing in the yard... here I am watching over him and making sure that he doesn't get into any mischief.

When my mom and dad went back inside of the house they saw this on the TV. My dad freaked out a little bit because this isn't too terribly far from where Justin and Ande live. Gilroy is where they have the big garlic festival every year.

But enough about the fires... let's look at more puppy pictures! My mom decided to buy Trooper a Kong chew toy in the hopes that it would distract him from chewing up my dad's shoes and slippers. As you can see, my mom's plan worked. Trooper loves his Kong!

The Kong comes with a chewy treat that you stuff inside of a hole that's in the bottom of the toy. You can see the treat sticking out of the hole in this picture... the objective is to get Trooper to spend lots and lots of time trying to get the treat out of the hole.

I guess Trooper sees me as a granddad figure... he loves to lie next to me when he goes to sleep. Here we are taking an afternoon siesta together...

And here's Trooper sleeping like his buddy Blackie... flat on his back! (You can see Bob and Blackie's blog here...)

ZzzzzZzzzz... Good night everybody!

Super Trooper

Yesterday my mom and dad went all the way down to Encinitas to pick-up my new baby brother. Here's a picture of my dad meeting him for the first time. (That white fuzzy stuff by his mouth is the stuffing that he pulled out of his squeaky toy.)

My baby brother's name at the Humane Society was Satchel but my dad changed it to Trooper. My mom calls him "Schmoopies"... don't ask me why. Here's Trooper trying to eat a bench... (his little puppy teeth are sharp!)

Trooper has a bazillion toys to play with but he'd rather play with pinecones.

And sticks...

And he almost always has one ear sticking up and the other ear flapped over...(and did you notice that his eyebrows look like apostrophes?)

Here's a picture of me and Trooper together. He can be pretty annoying at times but for the most part he's lots of fun to play with.

We even got to go for a walk around the block today! I haven't done that in ages. For a little guy he walks pretty good on a leash.

I hope you enjoyed meeting Trooper. My mom has lots more pictures to post. This is only the beginning! Love, Big Brother Ollie

Camera-Critters Sunday #6

Say hello to Teddy. Teddy lives in Fort Worth, Texas with my brother and sister-in-law. I met Teddy for the first time last January when I travelled to Texas for my nephew's wedding.

Teddy is a bit of a ham and he loved posing for me. Here he is with one of his squeaky toys.

I'm more accustomed to big dogs but Teddy is like a big dog in a little dog suit. He's fearless and feisty... I don't know if those are typical Pomeranian traits but he's quite a character! Here he is having an after dinner snooze...

Thanks for stopping by... hope everyone is having a nice weekend!

Four Things About Me... by Ollie Prow Prow Kitty!

Hello, Ollie here! I filled out this fun questionnaire and was getting ready to post it but the Evil Prow Prow kitty deleted my answers and typed in her own! Grrrr.... I hate Prow Prow kitty.

Rebuttal from Prow Prow Kitty: The reason I deleted Ollie's answers is because Ollie has no life and his answers were boring. He never goes anywhere, he doesn't do anything besides eat and sleep and his only friend is Taz (but Taz is getting senile and he doesn't know any better). So without any further ado here are my answers...

A) FOUR PLACES I GO OVER AND OVER: Litter Box, Kitchen (my food bowls), Bedroom (to get my beauty sleep) and the cardboard catnip covered fainting couch. Here I am playing on top of my fainting couch...

B) FOUR PEOPLE WHO E MAIL ME? Blackie, Bob and sometimes Lily and Jack send pictures of themselves. Here's Lily... isn't she pretty? (Actually she looks a little snooty in this photo but she's really very nice!)

C) FOUR OF MY FAVORITE FOODS: Fancy Feast Flaked Trout, Fancy Feast Flaked Tuna, Fancy Feast Fish and Shrimp and Fancy Feast Yellowfin Tuna Florentine In A Delicate Sauce With Garden Greens. (I'm not spoiled, just well taken care of!)

D) FOUR PLACES I WOULD RATHER BE RIGHT NOW: Outside chasing the birds and squirrels but my mom won't let me go outside because she's afraid that a coyote will eat me. Other than that I'm happy to lounge around inside of the house.

E) FOUR PEOPLE WHO WILL E-MAIL YOU BACK: I'm hoping that Bob and Blackie will fill out the questionnaire. Here's a photo of Bob and Blackie waiting patiently for their breakfast... they're such good boys!

F) FOUR THINGS I DON'T LIKE: Ollie, Taz, getting wet and being picked up and held. (I'm a control freak... I don't like being picked up and moved against my will.) Do you blame me for not liking Ollie? Look at him... he's a nitwit!

G) FOUR MOVIES/Series I WATCH OVER AND OVER: Why would I watch movies when I can watch the birds outside of the window instead?

Hope everybody has a nice weekend! Bye for now... Prow Prow Kitty
