Camera Critters #46

Anyone who shops at Costco knows that there's usually an assortment of odd shaped boxes at the check-out stands. Kalea Kitty loves the Costco boxes... here she is inspecting a Mango Nectar box.

After she climbed out of the box, I flipped it over and placed her toy mice on top. See how she eyeballs the mice while pretending to rub her chin on the corner of the box?

I captured her "innocent look" while she was peeking through the cardboard cut outs...

Here we see her "evil look"... this photo reminds me of the old cartoons where the cat is peering into the mouse hole at the terrified mice. Eeek!

What a difference a day makes...

If you compare this photo to the first photo in my previous post you can see that's it's basically the same view. The main difference is that today we had plenty of sunshine and blue skies all day long!

We live on a cul-de-sac which means the snow plow driver pushes all of the snow to our end of the street. We now have a mini Mt. Everest in front of our house. I took this picture of Jim with the snowblower to illustrate how tall these mountains of snow are... Jim is 6' tall and he's dwarfed by the snow.

I thought this icicle was pretty hanging off of a tree branch...

After I shoveled off our deck I replenished all of the bird and squirrel feeders. This squirrel was getting very impatient with me. He was chattering at me LOUDLY and slapping the branch with his front feet. It was almost as if he was saying "put down that camera and give me something to eat!"

Trooper absolutely LOVES playing in the snow. He spent nearly the entire afternoon romping through the fresh powder.

The kitty preferred to observe the snow from inside of the house where it was nice and warm. I think she had the right idea!

I'm ready for my close-up...

My buddy Ratmammy aka Bob and Blackie's mom (you can find her blog here) has been nagging encouraging me to take macro shots by utilizing the various settings on my camera. I'm a point and shoot sort of person... I didn't even realize that my camera had so many settings! (For the record, I have a Canon PowerShot S2 IS and I love it!) Here's a close-up of my kitty's face. She got annoyed with me pretty quickly so I decided to move on to more willing subjects - flowers!

I call this the "big pink flower". I have no idea what the name of this flower is... if anyone knows, will you please let me know? Thanks!

Big 3-0

Today we are celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary. Hubby Jim surprised me with this beautiful flower arrangement!

Of course the kitty couldn't resist giving it a sniff...

Kitty says... "Yes, the flowers are pretty... may I have my Fancy Feast now?"
